Many school groups from all over the US sign up for our half day tours, full day tours and overnight adventures when visiting Savannah, Georgia. The program is a great mixer, teaching group cooperation and fun. We begin with the orientation to introduce the paddles, life vests, and boats. We get on the water and explore from Tybee Island to Little Tybee Island. Ecology programs are so amazing because we are paddling through the habitats that we discuss making our environmental education programs 100% hands on. Students are hands on with the paddling to a deserted island and beach combing, making them a part of the environment that we study. Total immersion in the environment is offered. Every program varies from the difference in tide, to seasonal flora and fauna. Join us for this fun discovery that will add a new dimension to your students trip.
Another benefit to our immersion in the outdoor environment is that it offers a chance to unplug from electronics for a short period of time and get into the rhythm and flow of nature. We are a part of the planet and these programs allow us to reflect upon the movements, ebbs and floods of habitats that exist outside of our influence.
We can offer bespoke programs based on the objectives of your group. Please give us a call to discuss the many options that help you achieve a great group experience. Paddle Tybee!

Camping Trips – School Groups, Scouts, Families
Sea Kayak Georgia offers camping trips to school groups, scouts, and families. Let us plan your camping and onwater paddlesports adventure. We can accommodate approximately fifty participants on water by kayak, fifteen by sup or thirty by canoe. Since 1994 we have provided fun and safe programs to groups of all ages from elementary school through college. Our family trips are great for everyone from seven to eighty plus years of age! We can plan any kind of camping trip that you can imagine from island camping, trips based out of Skidaway Island State Park and the inland rivers of Georgia. We are registered guides in the Okefenokee swamp. Many school groups have adventured with us on fully supported multiday programs. We provide the programs, the boats and gear, and the food. Chaperones, teachers and leaders can show up knowing that everything is taken care of for a safe, comfortable and educational program. No problem, if you want to supply the food and camping items and we coordinate the onwater portion. Either way there is no better program than a Sea Kayak Georgia group camping trip on the islands, rivers, or Okefenokee!
Call with your group size and dates and we will supply a custom itinerary.
Tybee Island River’s End Camp: Tybee Island’s own campground can support tent camping for groups up to 25 participants. We are happy to utilize this camp on our fabulous little island since it enables us to conviently get out on the water and explore very quickly. Stay here for convenience to our paddle explorations and to support the local outdoor community. Partial or full outfitting options available.
Skidaway State Park Pioneer Camp: This is where we support a bulk of our school programs. We have easy access to Savannah paddling routes, Tybee paddling routes, and Ebenezer creek and beyond. The pioneer camp is a fun hike into the site, set amongst ancient live oaks dripping with Spanish moss. We will set up housekeeping in the forest for the duration of your visit. We combine with natural and cultural history programs with us and utilizing local educators. Ecofriendly kayaking and canoeing programs are entertwined with other programs to offer 3 to 6 day educational programs that can only be experienced by living them. Your school group, scout group, or other large group will leave feeling enriched by quality programming that suites a study week away from school. We’ll learn to live outside and be kids again, climbing trees, listening to nature, building campfires. Our facebook page is bursting with photos from the many trips we provide.
Fort McAllistar Pioneer Camp: Another great place to live with nature at our pioneer camp. We combine with historical tours of the fort and experiental on water programs teaching watersport and ecology. Evenings are spent around the campfire debriefing about the day and sharing stories.
Little Tybee Island primitive camping: Lots of possibilities of places to paddle and camp, depending on the skill of the group. Let us provide everything and you come along on an unforgettable journey in our back yard.

Okefenokee Swamp: As Okefenokee guides we know the swamp and love to share it with newcomers and those who have already been. Camping on platforms by night and days filled with cypress and prairie abound. This trip can be done by kayak or canoe. This is a very special winter trip.
Inland Rivers Camping : Ohoopee, Oconee, Altamaha are some of our favorite places to paddle winter or summer. These trips are perfect for canoe with summer fishing and big fires in the winter. Boy Scouts, families and groups all find these rivers incredible with their white sandbars and beautiful winding waterways.
