Kayak Trips

Our guided kayak tours are the perfect way to get through the elements that make up the coastal barrier island system. The experience of kayaking is an exhilarating hands on outdoor activity for fun and environmental education. We can accommodate all levels of paddlers from beginning up through some exciting challenges for the seasoned paddler.

Half Day Tours

Our half day tour is designed to be an introduction to the sport, paddling through the protected estuary and beach combing on Little Tybee nothing could be more serene and refreshing. Our tidal ranges is between 6 and 9 feet so every time we go out things are a bit different, this allows dynamic opportunities for our guides to offer the most spontaneous experiences for your ecology program. Chances for viewing shorebirds and marsh birds, bird of prey, dolphin, crabs abound.

Half Day (3 hour),  Little Tybee/Tybee Kayak Tour
$65 adults, $55 for ages 17 and under

2 Hour Evening Tour and Sunset Tour 
$65 adults, $55 for ages 17 and under

Where To Meet 
The tour begins with an orientation at our shop and full service outfitting shop, Sea Kayak Georgia, 1102 Hwy 80, Tybee Island, GA. 31328. Park your car here and we will take care of the rest. Our facility has restrooms for use before you get on the water and after the tour you can rinse your feet or shower before heading out for more island fun. We offer parking and almost always provide transportation to and from the launch site. Visit our shop before and after your program for a great choice of hats, t shirts, dry bags and all kayaking gear. Local art by Marsha Henson is also on display and for sale.   

Ebenezer Creek
$80 per person, minimum 4 people
4 hours
Check Schedule for Tour Times. Most trips to Ebenezer are run on Monday.  Reservation and prepayment are required at least the day before your tour date.
We will meet you at the launch site - Tommy Long Landing, near Rincon GA. We will email you directions when you make your reservation.
You provide; Wear clothes and shoes you don't mind getting wet. Bring sunscreen, sun hat, plenty of drinking water for each person. Also pack a lunch or snacks. We will stop for a lunch break midway. In cool weather a rain jacket and pants will protect from water and wind.
Ebenezer Creek is a blackwater creek that flows so slowly you could paddle it in either direction. The trip runs for seven miles through a cypress forest straight out of Tolkien’s Trilogy. Thousands of cypress knees reach up to meet the Spanish moss like stalactites and stalagmites in a watery cave. The single best word to describe this place? “Enchanting.”

Little Tybee Island Waterways in the Marsh Paddle

Little Tybee Island High Tide Paddle
$85 adults, $75 for ages 17 and under

Join us on the full and new moon tides for the spring tide highs. At high tide we won’t even have to stay in the channel we can paddle over the grass and take short cuts to go fast and far. This trip can take us to places we usually don’t get to go. Hard to say exactly where, until we get there! Join up if you like to chance what may happen. One of our favorite trips.

We will travel ocean side and set Little Tybee all the way down to the south end. There will be wave play and surfing along the way. The whole idea of this trip is to give a sample of openwater paddling with lots of surf spots to tickle your fancy! Paddlers with a self rescue looking for wave play.

Wassaw
Open to Intermediate to Advanced Paddlers

You will need to be comfortable outside for 6 hours, paddling for a majority of the time. We will stop on a beach or island to expiore and to picnic.
Wassaw is a national wildlife refuge open to the public during daylight hours. It has mature maritine forest and miles of deserted beaches. Leave from Tybee and create a journey on the open sea. This adventure on the high sea takes in several prime surfing spots along the way. The swell crossing Wassaw Sound can be spectacular. Get ready for fun SKG style.

Ossabaw

You will need to be comfortable outside for 8 hours, paddling for a majority of the time.  
Paddling to Ossabaw is a fitness paddle for the water lifestyle! We will leave early and paddle hard to Ossabaw. This special island is one of the most unique in character of all the Georgia Isles with its long history, interesting wildlife and designation as Georgia's first Heritage Preserve. What a lovely example she has set. Lots of history and nature combine for visual rewards. Intermidiate to advanced paddlers able to paddle close to 20 miles in a day for this paddle.
